About Tess Deleon

MY Quick-as-a-Flash Artist Statement: I studied Kathe Kollwitz style and life story all throughout high school. Having trouble succeeding at Pennsylvania College of Art and Design, I looked back at my idol for encouragement. As a result, I started developing ink paintings resembling a print’s essence. My focus is line patterns creating forms and flowing from one form into another. I prefer drawing items where most expressive lines appear to me (such as drapery and imperfect hair). Despite what some viewers or critics prefer, I often work in black and white. Too much color gives me headaches.
